We strongly believe that living water is on tap for all & meant to be shared!! Oasis groups assist members to look outwards to the needs of our community & the reconciliation of those separated from the love of God.
An Oasis Group study is based on a previous Sundays preaching message & is filled with scripture & plenty of relevant thought provoking questions to help us think about the scripture we are reading & the message we are reflecting on. The study questions are not just “What is God saying” but “What is God saying to me?”. We believe information only turns to transformation when you do something about what you have read & heard. James writes “But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, & continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed by what he does” (James 1:25)
Psalm 32:3 ‘When I kept it all inside, my bones turned to powder, my words became daylong groans’
Our groups attempt to provide a non judgemental environment of openness & honesty. And we encourage members not to sacrifice their integrity by betraying trust.
As the psalmist stated: ‘What God is after is truth from the inside out ‘ (Psalm 51:6). Too many believers say “things are fantastic”, when really they are not. This is more fake…than faith. God is not after perfection, He is after authenticity, which is the pathway to wholeness. James 5:16 ‘Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed’
Psalm 139:23-24 ‘Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life’
The conclusion to every group includes an intimate prayer ministry time. This is where we ask for help to practically apply what we’ve just learned. Its also a time to get things right with God if we have strayed away from His truth for whatever reason. God can’t heal what we won't reveal or cleanse what we won't confess.
Jesus said: ‘The words that I speak to you are Spirit, & they are life’. As Christ & His word are at the heart of every Oasis group, coupled with warm fellowship, we believe you will come out from our mid week gatherings; refreshed, encouraged & empowered to overcome!
